Application Scenarios

Spectrum Analyzers

Modern spectrum analyzers require low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) with exceptionally low noise figures and wide instantaneous bandwidth to capture weak signals with high fidelity. UMS LNAs covering 0.1-110 GHz deliver noise figures as low as 1.2 dB, enabling accurate spectrum monitoring and signal analysis in both laboratory and field environments.

Signal Generators & VCOs

High-purity signal generation is critical for calibration and testing of RF systems. UMS voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) and phase-locked loop (PLL) chips provide excellent phase noise performance and wide tuning ranges, making them ideal for signal generator front-ends and local oscillator (LO) chains in test equipment.

Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs)

VNAs require highly linear, wideband components for both source and receiver chains. UMS variable gain amplifiers (VGAs) and wideband LNAs provide the linearity and bandwidth needed for accurate S-parameter measurements from MHz to E-band (71-86 GHz). Southwest 1.0mm and 1.35mm precision connectors ensure minimal reflection in VNA test ports.

Over-the-Air (OTA) Test Systems

5G and satellite communication OTA test systems require millimeter-wave components with excellent phase stability and gain consistency. UMS E-band and W-band MMICs, combined with Southwest precision end-launch connectors and low-loss cable assemblies, enable accurate OTA chamber measurements for antenna pattern verification and TRP/TIS testing.

Calibration & Reference Standards
