Vertical Launch Connectors
Perpendicular PCB signal launch with low VSWR - solderless compression-mount, ideal for high-density multilayer PCB designs, up to 125 GHz
Southwest Vertical Launch Connectors
ORIGINATOR. INVENTOR. - The perpendicular PCB launch solution for high-density multilayer designs
Southwest Microwave vertical launch connectors provide a perpendicular (vertical) transition from coaxial cable or connector to the PCB, eliminating the need for right-angle bends and reducing PCB real estate consumption. Solderless compression-mount design, reusable and optimized for microstrip and grounded coplanar waveguide (GCPW) designs. Five interface series available: 1.0 mm (125 GHz, Model 24359-001J), 1.35 mm (90 GHz, Model 22359-001J), 1.85 mm (67 GHz, Model 18359-001J), 2.40 mm (50 GHz, Model 14359-001J), and 2.92 mm (40 GHz, Model 10359-002J).
Key Advantages
Why choose vertical launch over end launch
Space Saving
Perpendicular launch requires minimal PCB edge space. Ideal for high-density designs with multiple RF channels along the board edge.
Multilayer Compatible
Vertical launch connects to inner PCB layers through vias, enabling multilayer board designs with RF signals on internal layers.
Low VSWR
Optimized transition geometry provides low VSWR and excellent return loss across the full operating frequency range.
